Part 1: Shift the Focus
What is your “why?” and what does it mean to shift the focus of exercise? In this episode we explain that shifting the focus means exploring how exercise is feeling in your body vs what it is doing to your body. If you are an exhausted and stressed out Mom whose only motivation for exercise is focused on body change, you will quickly fizzle out. We give Mom’s three alternative motivations for exercise (strengthening your mom mind, your mom bod, and your mom bonds) and explain the benefits of each one. We interview Laura Spruyt, ambassador for “Run Like a Girl,” about how she seeks adventure and connection with the outdoors in her movement. The possibilities are endless and if joy is at the center, there is no wrong way to get your groove on!
